Before you subscribe to Last Sunday of the Month, here are two things to consider:

As mainly a long-form essay publication, this substack is not meant to be light reading. It may at times even be demanding. That said, and whilst designed as a “quality over quantity” publication (I don't have time for weekly posts, and expect you’d rather not be bombarded), Last Sunday of the Month is intended to be accessible to a wider audience than an academic one.

Second, and to the extent that it is concerned with hot topics in politics and the “culture wars” at all, this substack will not always defend a particular viewpoint, or at least not directly, much less provoke, express dismay, or get angry about what someone else may think. Let’s leave that, and the theatre of offence, to X.

Instead, Last Sunday of the Month will tread a different, less acrimonious path. Often it will take several steps back and ask not “should that opinion be applauded or condemned?”, but a different, and very simple, question:

What needs to be true for that opinion to be true?

If you think finding that out, in that way, may be worth your time (and effort), then Last Sunday of the Month may well be for you.
